What the check shows

ChatGPT shows both the pages it pulled and the pages it cited. Across 157 measured answers it read 15.8 pages and cited 7.6 on average. Found but not cited is a different fix from not found.

Who is named instead

Every brand an answer recommends, in the order it names them, with how the answer frames each one. Competitors are tracked by name, alias and domain, never by guesswork.

Sources the AI trusts

Review sites, directories, Reddit, news: the domains cited in your category, by engine, with whether each one mentions you. That is where to get listed.

Crawler access

Your robots.txt checked against twelve AI crawlers, and your pages fetched as each search crawler. Blocking training is a choice; blocking search hides you.

What does the AI visibility checker test?
It asks five buyer questions about your category on ChatGPT, Google's AI Overviews and AI Mode, Gemini and Perplexity, as a searcher in your market, and records whether each answer names you, who it names instead, and which sources it cites.
Why does one check say "snapshot"?
AI answers change from run to run. A free check asks each question once, so treat it as a first look. Weekly tracking repeats every question several times and only calls a change up or down when it is statistically real.
What are fan-out queries?
Before ChatGPT answers, it often runs its own web searches. Those searches are the fan-out queries. If you don't rank for them, you are unlikely to be read, cited or named.
Do I need to add llms.txt or schema?
No. We report both, but no major engine is known to read llms.txt, and a controlled study found no measurable effect of schema on being cited. Ranking for the searches the AI runs, and being cited by the sources it trusts, matter more.
Which locations do you support?
Any country and most cities. Each engine gets the closest location it accepts: ChatGPT by country, Google's AI Overviews, AI Mode and Gemini by city coordinates, Perplexity by country. Every answer shows the location that was used.
